I feel coming from a programmers point of view that because of the way that Microsoft has developed their asp.net interface over the years, it requires one to at least install IE on their computer or they basically will eliminate 10% of the web. So assuming that you have to have IE, this is a drastic improvement. With that being said it still suffers from many of the same problems such as not even opening pages that in other browsers open in seconds. The main problem though is still Microsoft's insistence that their programming not need to be compatible with all browsers so we will continue to see IE whether it be better or not on the scene.
