Mozilla Calls, Aurora and Others Answer
Mozilla Labs recently called for participation in their new Concept Series, designed to let anybody collaborate on the design and conception of future Mozilla projects.Today were calling on industry, higher education and people from around the world to get involved and share their ideas and expertise as we collectively explore and design future directions for the Web.
You dont have to be a software engineer to get involved, and you dont have to program. Everyone is welcome to participate. Were particularly interested in engaging with designers who have not typically been involved with open source projects. And were biasing towards broad participation, not finished implementations.
So far, Adaptive Path, Mozilla Labs Aza Raskin, and designer Wei Zhou have submitted video mockups, showing their visions of the browsers future. These mockups are compelling in that some promote a type of integration of the browser and OS that we havent seen before. Could this be what future cloud computing PCs could look like? The CherryPal PC already uses a modified version of Firefox as its OS, so it certainly seems feasible. Check out the mockups for yourself below!
